In this authoritative, groundbreaking work, Swami Ajaya, a practicing clinical psychologist, compares the diverse teachings of ancient and modern psychotherapies. Part I of this highly readable analysis examines the philosophical assumptions underlying our current therapeutic psychologies—reductionism, humanism, dualism—and contrasts these psychotherapies with the more inclusive outlook of the monistic paradigm. Part II explains the application of yoga therapy, contrasting it with the approaches of modern psychology.
